The new release is here!
November 23, 2009 | In: Downloads
Glen just sent me the new releasable version of OG which has version number 0.77. We’re making progress and have also had the help offered by a seasoned programmer, hoping to accelerate the project.
But for now, download and enjoy!

Thank you for the input, however the developers don’t often read the comments here. So please post your request in the OG discussion group (link on left side), so that it is added to the “to do” list.

When is your add-on going to be available at Mozilla’s add-on database? I don’t quite trust something that haven’t been approved there

Absolutely understand your concerns, we plan to submit this as an experimental add-on this week. Experimental because we still need to fix one issue and would also like feedback on the add-on before we release it in the wild.

Great Work. “Thumbs Up” Can you add the old Language Files from CustomizeGoogle to OptimizeGoogle?

Thanks for awesome addon. I did not want to register for Google account so I am posting suggestion here instead of discussion section.
“Add links to other search/news/shopping websites” does not work yet in latest Optimize Google version. Rest of the options I use on Google services work great.

Many thanks for this very useful add-on!
One request/suggestion: it would be nice to have an option to search Wikipedia in other languages than english/american. In my case, it would help me a great deal to be able to search the Dutch wikipedia in one click.

I mentioned these on the AMO page, but I thought I’d bring them here, not complaints but suggestions:
1. Include alternative Image Search pages like Yahoo and Bing.
2. Think about including a way to block the search suggestions sidebar when and if it lands. Maybe include a link on the page to switch it on and off.
3. Force Google to use normal font sizes. They appear still be testing the larger fonts in search boxes and they only randomly appear for me, but the larger fonts are very annoying. I guess this is another “when it lands” features.

This is a great service you are providing the online community. I consider you guys to be freedom fighters of a kind, helping to keep peoples’ privacy and stop Big Brother
invading every aspect of their lives.
It might seem like a small contribution to human rights, but
considering how pervasive Google is, and how much the
American government uses them to invade the privacy of
citizens, you guys are heros.

i’ve been searching for this type of tool for YEARS. i hate the lack of customization that google provides considering how much they tout trying to help you search better. for instance, i want to be able to search for webpages about using the “curl” library within PHP. if you search for that on google, it will give you webpages that have “curl” in the text and “php” as the file extension. NO YOU IDIOTS! where’s the “NEVER SEARCH THE URL FOR KEYWORDS” option!? anyway, even though something like that isn’t in optimizegoogle, it simply illustrates reasons why third party applications have to “help” google cooperate.
i will never again accidentally click on a useless “fixya” or “bigresource” link again. THOSE SITES ARE USELESS!!!
