i’ve been searching for this type of tool for YEARS. i hate the lack of customization that google provides considering how much they tout trying to help you search better. for instance, i want to be able to search for webpages about using the “curl” library within PHP. if you search for that on google, it will give you webpages that have “curl” in the text and “php” as the file extension. NO YOU IDIOTS! where’s the “NEVER SEARCH THE URL FOR KEYWORDS” option!? anyway, even though something like that isn’t in optimizegoogle, it simply illustrates reasons why third party applications have to “help” google cooperate.

i will never again accidentally click on a useless “fixya” or “bigresource” link again. THOSE SITES ARE USELESS!!!

I mentioned these on the AMO page, but I thought I’d bring them here, not complaints but suggestions:

1. Include alternative Image Search pages like Yahoo and Bing.

2. Think about including a way to block the search suggestions sidebar when and if it lands. Maybe include a link on the page to switch it on and off.

3. Force Google to use normal font sizes. They appear still be testing the larger fonts in search boxes and they only randomly appear for me, but the larger fonts are very annoying. I guess this is another “when it lands” features.

One request/suggestion: it would be nice to have an option to search Wikipedia in other languages than english/american. In my case, it would help me a great deal to be able to search the Dutch wikipedia in one click.

Thanks for awesome addon. I did not want to register for Google account so I am posting suggestion here instead of discussion section.

“Add links to other search/news/shopping websites” does not work yet in latest Optimize Google version. Rest of the options I use on Google services work great.

Absolutely understand your concerns, we plan to submit this as an experimental add-on this week. Experimental because we still need to fix one issue and would also like feedback on the add-on before we release it in the wild.
